Museum ship ‘GERA’
This motorised fishing vessel is the last surviving example from the fleet of traditional side trawlers where the trawl net was mainly hauled in by hand.

Multimedia
Exhibitions in the net room and the hold explain fishing techniques, fishing grounds and the types of fish caught on the side trawler. At five multimedia stations, films, series of photographs and illustrated information can be accessed giving an insight into the history and hard work of deep sea fishing.

During the Fish Party on the last weekend in April there will be a lively programme of events and demonstrations on the “GERA”.

Guided tours
For groups we offer guided tours through the museum ship FMS “GERA” with former deep-sea fishermen and captains in which the ship’s bridge is accessible.
